Corporate Overview

SOVAR (Research Application Development Society) is one of four university research valorization entities created in the Province of Quebec with the financial support of Valorisation-Recherche Québec (VRQ). In 2000, 10M$ was awarded to SOVAR by VRQ and 1,5M$ by Canada Economic Development in 2002. SOVAR is a limited partnership with Université Laval, the Centre hospitalier universitaire de Québec (CHUQ) and the Institut universitaire en santé mentale de Québec as limited partners.

Our goal is to identify research results with great commercial potential, demonstrate their technical and commercial viability and transfer the resulting applications to industry and, ultimately, to the markets.

SOVAR uses its team of specialists and its investment capacity in syndication with other investors to support the development of emerging technologies.
